United Local Fall Pops Concert 2020This year, the junior high and high school choirs will perform their Fall Pops Concert via live stream. On Wednesday evening, April 1, 2020, United 2019 National Honors SocietyLocal’s chapter of National Honor’s Society honored its new inductees. In the past few months, Mr. Burd’s 8th grade language arts8th Grade Writing Feature class has completed a number of writing assignments aimed at introducing the students to writing opportunities outside of school. Such assignments included product reviews and blog posts with a subject chosen by the individual students. Click here to read some of their work!





On Saturday, February 29th, United Local's Competition Cheer Team will Competition Cheer Team goes to Statebe traveling to Pickerington High School to compete in the 2020 State Competition. "Egg"-Stravaganza BreakfastOn Saturday, February 29th, the United Community Scholarship Foundation will be hosting their annual All You Can Eat "Egg"-Stravaganza breakfast from 7:00 am to Noon in the high school cafeteria. Teen Dating Violence Awareness Bulletin BoardOn Thursday, February 6th, Youth Coalition members and student volunteers created a banner for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Following the activity, the banner, along with a number of statistics and resources, was displayed on a bulletin board next to the concession stand in the cafeteria. The cast of United's Beauty and the Beast will be hosting a pre-show workshop for Beauty and the Beast Pre-Show Workshopelementary school students on March 6th. Students will have the opportunity to meet the leading characters, tour backstage, and learn a simple dance combination to perform at intermission. Support the 8th Grade Trip To DC!On Friday, February 7th the 8th-grade class will be hosting a spaghetti dinner to benefit their annual trip to Washington D.C. Click here to read more about the event





On Friday, January 24th, Principal's Advisory Council and junior high Beaver Local PAC Trip representatives traveled to Beaver Local to tour their school building. Beauty and the Beast Preshow Interviews Rehearsals have begun for United's production of Beauty and the Beast! Band Christmas RecapOn December 8th, 2019, United Local's elementary, junior high, and high school bands wrapped up their Christmas season with their annual Christmas concert. On December 6th, the high school marching band traveled to Youngstown to participate in the Youngstown Christmas parade. On Wednesday, December 11th, Spanish and Art students traveled to the Spanish and Art Field TripButler Art Museum in Youngstown, Ohio. On November 6th, 2019, United Local hosted its annual Powderpuff Powderpuff Seniors 2019football game. The Class of 2020 seniors won the Championship game, taking home their second victory Powderpuff victory. Click here to read more about the game, and some of the players who participated.

On Sunday, October 27th, 2019 United Local's high school Choir Seniorsand junior high choirs put on their annual Fall Pops Concert. On Friday, November 1st, Spanish Club members and students in Spanish Day of the Deadclasses kicked off their Day of the Dead studies and celebrations. AntivirusJunior High students at United take part in a 10-week program called the Anti-virus Character Education Program. Each week, students learn about a different character trait from mentor Tom Coffee. Election Day is coming up! On Tuesday, November 5th, make sure to go Voteout and vote. Local judges, school board members, and other officials and measures will all be on the ballot. On Friday, October 25th, the junior high and high school bands hococombined for their annual junior high night. Also on October 25th, the Homecoming Queen and King were crowned. Clash of CansOn Monday, October 28th, United Local Students kicked off their annual Clash of Cans food drive. The Clash of Cans is a head to head competition against the Lisbon Blue Devils to see who can bring in the most non-perishable food products. The food drive will end on Friday, November 1st and the Clash of Cans winner will be announced at the United v. pulsera projectThe Pulsera Project has entered its second week! The project, benefiting families communities in Central America, is being managed by the United Local Spanish Club and its adviser Mrs. Brothers.
