iHola! Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year here at United High School. I am Mrs. Brothers and I am excited about the Spanish Program this year!

I live in Lisbon, Ohio with my husband, Jed, two step children, Ava and Wyatt and my son, Isaac. I attended Youngstown State University from 2003 - 2007 and earned two bachelors degree in International Business Management and Spanish. I returned to YSU to complete my Masters Degree in 2009 and earned a teaching license in P-12 Spanish. I enjoy spending time with my family, raising chickens, gardening and drinking Diet Coke.

It is my hope that the students will not only gain knowledge about the Spanish language, but also learn the importance of foreign languages in our world today. My goal is for us to understand and apply the knowledge we learn in class to our lives here in Ohio and also to future destinations, dreams and goals. The study of a world language will help prepare students to live and work in a diverse society. Learning a language promotes peace, understanding and improves human relations in our world. All classes will be involved in listening, speaking, reading and writing; as well as develop an understanding of the customs, art, literature, history and geography associated with the Spanish language. No matter the level, we will be working together to create some incredible projects that will use real-world, authentic Spanish.

Our class schedule and assignments will always be available on Classroom Connections throughout the year and we will also be using Google Classroom for announcements, submitting assignments and creating an e-Portfolio of your work. We will also use the Remind app for announcements and reminders throughout the year. Parents/Guardians will have access to/be able to sign up for Google Classroom access and for Remind to stay updated on what we are doing in the classroom this year. Please contact me at any time with questions or concerns.
