COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Information

Governor DeWine extended remote learning from home for the remainder of the year. Ohio Department of Health guidelines can be found HERE. We have put in place precautions to ensure that any coming for food or materials will comply with the ODH regulations.

We want to thank all our families for their cooperation during this uncertain time and we want to say a special thank you to all the front line workers. Your sacrifice is truly appreciated. We plan to update any major changes on Fridays of each week or when we learn of new updates. Page will be updated as soon as we have new information and be marked by date.

Commencement

On Monday, April 20, Governor Mike DeWine closed school buildings for the rest of the school year. With this announcement, we will be continuing remote learning through the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Within his message, he also stated to continue social distancing and avoid mass gatherings.  The school closure and stay at home orders have been a challenge for everyone.  The context of the message and the Ohio Department of Education Guidelines can be found HERE.

Although every student and staff member has been disrupted through the closure, our most pressing concern is for the Class of 2020 seniors. It is our goal to make sure graduation is still a special celebration. We will work to ensure that we recognize our graduating seniors within the scope of the current law and celebrate their achievements.  Dr. Young will continue to share these thoughts with our graduating seniors and will discuss all of this information as we share the final details of our plan.

We know that all of these plans are different than in the past, but we want to still make graduation special for all of our seniors and showcase their hard work and accomplishments over the past 13 years.

Family & friends will be able to stop by the school to plant a flower in memory of a student who passed away before graduating from United.  Flowers will be sitting out and available for planting between 9 am and 2 pm. We will not have a gathering at a specific time this year for a program, but we will have a slideshow remembering those students who passed over the history of our school. This slideshow will be posted to our district Facebook page near the end of May.
