2020-2021 Scholarships/Senior Opportunities:

The Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO is offering high school seniors who parents or legal guardians are a member of one of the local unions affiliated and in good standing with the Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO are eligible for one of the $500 American Income Life Scholarships. The deadline to request and then return the completed application is Friday, June 25, 2021. Copeland Oaks, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, has immediate openings for part time and casual Dietary employees. Part time employees work 24-29 hours per week and casual employees work less than 16 hours per week. Position openings include day, afternoon and evening shifts. School aged candidates must be able to submit a work permit. Non-school aged must be able to submit a high school diploma. Interested candidates should visit www.copelandoaks.com

 

The Columbiana Area Business and Professional Women's Club (CABPWC) will award a $1000 scholarship to one area female student to aid them in continuing their education.  Application is available HERE and must be received to the email listed on the application by May 31, 2021. Please see Mrs. Muniz at least 2 days in advance to have the school report filled out. 

 

The Columbiana County Federation of Conservation Clubs will award three $1,000 scholarships to students who intend to pursue a major field of study in agriculture, biology, wildlife conservation, environmental science, or a closely related field of study at a university or college, technical school or vocational school.  You must be a resident of Columbiana County. Applications are available HERE and the deadline to apply is May 15, 2021.

 

Coastal Pet Products in Alliance is offering Summer Employment to those 16 years and older. Full and part time work is available and you must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. For more information please click HERE.

 

The Salem Saxon Club will present a scholarship to an area graduating senior who will be attending a college or university this fall and has at least a 3.2 gpa and demonstrates financial need.  Application is HERE and must be submitted by June 1, 2021. 

 

 

Farmers Equipment is awarding Two $500 scholarships to be given in each of Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Hardin, Logan, Putnam, Shelby, Union, Hancock, Wyandot, Seneca, Van Wert, Paulding, Stark, Columbiana, Carroll, Mahoning, Jefferson and Sandusky counties to 4-H and/or FFA members who are graduating seniors.

The eligibility criteria are as follows:
• Must be a high school senior or graduate of a high school in the county in which you are applying.
• Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year, two-year college; or a trade school for Fall Quarter/Semester of 2021
• Applicant must be or have been involved in a junior fair program, such as 4-H or FFA.
• Applicant may not have been a previous winner of this scholarship.

• Those applicants that are selected will be recognized during the fair, at an event determined by the Fair Board.
• They will be notified by email in advance of the event.

Summitville Tile is hiring college bound students (must be 18 years old) at their Minerva tile factory for June, July and August. The will give students the opportunity to earn up to $5,472 before going off to college. Starting wage is $11.40 an hour and they are offering up to 40 hours weekly. Ventra Salem is hiring seasonal employees for May through September. You must be 18 years old by may to apply. Students are able to earn up to $7,000 in 3 months with up to 40 hours per week. The Lowell Iden/Larry Iler Scholarship is available from the Salem Hunting Club to seniors planning to study agriculture, biology, wildlife, conservation or environmental science. Selection is based on scholastic record, future plans, motivation, leadership, financial aid, and a commitment to the outdoors. Students awarded this scholarship are able to re-apply all four years of college. Application deadline is June 1, 2021. Applications are available HERE.

 

 

The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) provides David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarships to students who wish to attend either a 2 year or a 4 year institution of higher education but lack the financial resources to do so. Financial need is the main criteria for this scholarship and the application includes a household income statement and verification form.    The *NEW* deadline is May 31, 2021.
