Superintendent's Message

To United Local Parents and Community,

We hope you have enjoyed time with family and friends over the summer and we look forward to getting back to a somewhat “normal” year. We want to thank our staff, students, and families for their support in continuing to strive for maintaining a healthy school and work environment. Although the 2020-21 school year was challenging, we adopted many great health habits and we hope to continue to learn and adapt to new challenges.

We will continue to partner with our local health experts and continue with daily health practices such as hand washing, temperature checks, physical distancing when possible, and extra cleaning. Masking will be a family and individual choice within the buildings and all activities except on school buses. There is a current CDC and Ohio Department of Health mandate requiring masks on school transportation. In addition, there is currently no mandate for vaccinations for students or staff members. We highly encourage masking of all individuals who are not vaccinated if for no other reason than to prevent non-symptomatic quarantining by the health department or their representatives.

Any requests for online remote options must be made with the building principals. We do not anticipate full-time staff members being dedicated to online learning, but we can accommodate, as in the past, issues that might arise for student health necessities.

Our students and staff worked tremendously hard last year to build new skills and to adapt to new challenges! We want to continue to build upon these strengths and look forward to new challenges ahead.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday, August 30, 2021!

Lance Hostetler
