Students Graduating in 2023 and Beyond

Ohio’s  End of Course Exams

The following online state tests will be given when students take the following required courses:

• Math: Algebra 1 & Geometry

• English: English 2 (10th grade) 

• Science: Biology

• Social Studies: American History & American Government

Students must DEMONSTRATE COMPETENCY (3 or above) on Algebra 1 & English 2 to meet graduation requirements.

Point Equivalencies 

5  – Advanced

4  – Accelerated

3 – Proficient

2 – Basic

1 – Limited

Students that score below proficient (below a 3) on an exam may retake it after they receive some extra help on the material. 

Students who do not demonstrate competency can still meet the requirements for a diploma if they complete one of the following options:

Option 1 - Demonstrate Two Career-Focused Activities (eg. 12-point IRC, WebXam);

Option 2 - Enlist in the Military;

Option 3 - Earn credit for one college-level math and/or college-level English course.
