SOAR Store

United Elementary kicked off a major PBIS milestone on Friday as the SOAR Store made its first round through the building—and the excitement was unmistakable. Students eagerly lined up to exchange their hard-earned SOAR Bucks for fun incentives, celebrating the positive choices they have been making each day.

SOAR Bucks are awarded to students who consistently follow our school-wide expectations, go above and beyond to help others, or demonstrate extraordinary behavior. The enthusiasm surrounding the SOAR Store reflects not only the students’ commitment to meeting expectations, but also the strong foundation built by our dedicated PBIS team.

This year, especially as we settle into our new building, the PBIS team worked tirelessly to implement clear and consistent expectations. Their work included organizing a building-wide PBIS kickoff, during which students visited various locations throughout the school to learn what positive behavior looks like in each area. This proactive approach has helped create a safe, structured, and encouraging environment for all learners.

Our exceptional PBIS team includes Ashley Bussard, Jennifer Spillman, Sue Rickard, Jenna May, Misty Eichler, Lisa Duvall (parent/community representative), and PBIS Lead Aimee Marshall. Their hard work and leadership have played a vital role in shaping our school culture and ensuring students understand and embrace what it means to SOAR.

Friday’s SOAR Store brought smiles, laughter, and even a few math lessons. As students explored the various prizes, many calculated how many SOAR Bucks they would need to save for larger incentives next time—turning shopping into an authentic real-world learning opportunity. Several students proudly shared that they are more determined than ever to make positive choices so they can earn even bigger rewards in the future.

The success of the SOAR Store highlighted something even more meaningful: our staff and students working together to create a positive, uplifting school community. The pride, encouragement, and teamwork on display were truly inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our PBIS team for their dedication, vision, and passion. Their efforts are making a significant impact, and our school is better because of them.
