Rock Hall of Fame 2025

Thank you to the 8th grade and senior band members for a great trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today. We learned about the history of all pop music and its influences on the world. Go Band!!

United High School Staff Spotlight

Reminder: ticket sales for Breakfast with Santa end this Friday. Come join us for some holiday fun!

We are officially hosting auditions for "A Christmas Fruitcake and other Weighty Matters" on Wed, Dec 3 and Thursday Dec 4 after school in the choir room. I have attached the script so you can take a look at the characters and vibe of the show. Music is flexible, and I am looking at 2-4 ensemble numbers.

Unlike the shows of the past, we outright own the rights to this script, and are able to add characters/make changes/add funny things as we see fit. We are for sure adding vocal soloists to the script (even if you are in the ensemble/server and have no lines). For solo ideas, check out this Youtube Channel (any video will do, song selections will be made after roles are cast to best fit the script/character)

Everyone will sing Jingle Bells in the audition, and will read a page from the script. The script page will be given in the audition. Students interested in a vocal solo will let us know at this time.

Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to audition. I hope to see you all there! Break a leg!

Interested in earning college credit while still in high school? Join us for our College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Night to learn more about program options, requirements, and how to get started.

A big congratulations to Luke Hull for earning principal percussionist at the Youngstown Youth Orchestra and getting accepted to the Ohio All-State Orchestra! Luke is the first musician from United Local to get accepted to the Ohio All-State Orchestra. He is also the section leader of the United Drum Line and continues to help teach future generations of drummers. Keep up the good work Luke!

A big congrats to Sydney Thompson and Allison Conser on their performance with the YSU Side by Side Honors Band! Thank you for representing United Local and taking your talents beyond the classroom!

Happy Appreciation Day to our Substitute Teachers! A huge THANK YOU to our great substitute teachers for the support that they provide to our students and staff members. We appreciate all of their hard work, in continuing to help our students to learn when we need someone to step in to fill a spot.

Yesterday our students and staff came together to honor the men and women who have served our country during our Veterans Day Assembly. Thank you to Mr. Blatch for planning and organizing the program and to all students and staff who contributed to making this meaningful event happen. A heartfelt thank you to Lieutenant Colonel John Tucker, U.S. Army (Ret.), for sharing his powerful message and to all of our local veterans who joined us today. United Local is proud to honor those who have protected our freedom today and every day.
