United Local Schools will stay with a two-hour delay today, December 15th. Morning preschool is cancelled.

United Local will start on a two-hour delay tomorrow. Depending on road conditions in the morning, that could change to a closing. We will notify parents as soon as we make that decision.

Congratulations to the High School Band on a fantastic performance at the Youngstown Christmas Parade on December 5th! Thank you for braving the cold weather to represent Columbiana County at this event this year! It was great seeing all of the local support for our band up in Youngstown! Our next parade will be at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World on Thursday, May 19, 2026.

Congratulations to Luke Hull on performing with the Youngstown Youth Symphony over the weekend. Luke is currently the principal percussionist for this ensemble. The orchestra will put on one more concert in the spring of 2026. Luke's next performance is with the All State Symphony in Columbus on January 31, 2026. Keep up the great work!

“A Christmas Fruitcake and other Weighty Matters” is a dinner theater featuring Lords and Ladies, a battle of the presents, unsuspecting audience participants, and a whole lot of fruitcake!!!
This is in place of our spring musical. Due to renovations in the auditorium, the cafeteria is the space available for our use. Given this space, we decided to take a new direction with the spring theater production.
Unlike the shows of the past, we outright own the rights to this script, and are able to add characters/make changes/add funny things as we see fit. We are looking for servers for our banquet as well as any acts that would be seen at a Medieval banquet! This includes jugglers, acrobatics, music, and dance.
We still need 8 students to fill the cast, including one boy willing to play the “Black Sheep” prince of the family!!
Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to sign up. See Ms. Pigza in the choir room or email her at sarah.pigza@eaglepride.net to get the information.

Rock Hall of Fame 2025
Thank you to the 8th grade and senior band members for a great trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today. We learned about the history of all pop music and its influences on the world. Go Band!!

Our awesome 5th graders recently wrapped up a collaborative project that truly brought their learning to life. Each group designed and built a Thanksgiving parade float that represented something they had learned in ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies.
They brainstormed ideas, drafted plans, solved problems, and built their floats with creativity and teamwork from start to finish.
The 5th grade teachers loved seeing them present their work and share their learning with confidence. We’re so proud of the effort, imagination, and SOAR spirit they showed throughout the entire process!

Reminder: ticket sales for Breakfast with Santa end this Friday. Come join us for some holiday fun!

We are officially hosting auditions for "A Christmas Fruitcake and other Weighty Matters" on Wed, Dec 3 and Thursday Dec 4 after school in the choir room. I have attached the script so you can take a look at the characters and vibe of the show. Music is flexible, and I am looking at 2-4 ensemble numbers.
Unlike the shows of the past, we outright own the rights to this script, and are able to add characters/make changes/add funny things as we see fit. We are for sure adding vocal soloists to the script (even if you are in the ensemble/server and have no lines). For solo ideas, check out this Youtube Channel (any video will do, song selections will be made after roles are cast to best fit the script/character)
United Local 2025-2026 Spring Musical https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DrINcFW3BbttP_BXYuh2U9B_CuvS7bLa/view?usp=drive_link
Everyone will sing Jingle Bells in the audition, and will read a page from the script. The script page will be given in the audition. Students interested in a vocal solo will let us know at this time.
Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to audition. I hope to see you all there! Break a leg!

If you are unable to attend the audition in person please submit your audition via Google Classroom. Email Ms. Pigza at sarah.pigza@eaglepride.net for the code.

United Local School District will be closed today, December 2, 2025, due to weather.

Reminder to United Local Parents and Students:

Our staff gathered today in Swiger Strong shirts to send love, strength, and encouragement to Mr. Swiger. In moments that matter, our community always comes together. We’re behind you 100%, Mr. Swiger.

Mrs. Hepner took a group of junior high math students to YSU for a Mega Math Day. Students participated in a team competition with 11 other schools and attended workshops about different real life math implementations. The workshops ranged from higher level problem solving job interview questions, magic tricks, counting animal populations and even used an abacus. Two of our students earned prizes in the mixed team competition. Great day using math!

Happy Appreciation Day to our Substitute Teachers! A huge THANK YOU to our great substitute teachers for the support that they provide to our students and staff members. We appreciate all of their hard work, in continuing to help our students to learn when we need someone to step in to fill a spot.
We are UNITED in our appreciation for all that you do! Thanks to all the amazing substitute teachers out there!
