
Ohio’s three-day sales tax holiday — created to help parents and teachers save
money on back-to-school purchases — will take place Aug. 4-6. Sales tax will be
suspended on clothing, school supplies and instructional materials within certain price ranges. The tax suspension also will apply to online purchases.


United Local Schools will hold new student registration for the 2023-2024 school year on Tuesday, July 25th and Wednesday, July 26th in our elementary office. Please enter the building using door #8. To make an appointment to register for one of these dates please call Ann Peters, EMIS Coordinator (All Grades), at 330-223-2831. Children who will be Five Years old on or before August 1st are eligible to attend kindergarten. Please complete all of the necessary online documentation forms prior to your appointment time.


Frances Wilson presented part of her 4H First Aid project to the Board of Education at our last meeting. She also donated a LifeVac to the United Local Elementary School. We want to send a big "thank you" to Frances and her mom, Katie, for all the valuable information!


We hope that everyone is enjoying their summer break. Here is your 2023-24 Elementary and Middle School Supply Lists for grades 1st through 8th. Our incoming kindergarten class will not need to worry about a supply list. Kindergarten parents will get more information closer to the start of school.







United Local Elementary will be holding this year’s Kindergarten screenings for the Class of 2036 from 9:00am-5:00pm by appointment only, on August 16, 2023. Please call the elementary office at 330-223-8001 to set up your child’s screening time on or after August 1st. On the day of the screening you will need to enter through door #8 (elementary office).
Please complete all the required registration online forms prior to coming for your screening appointment on August 16, 2023. These forms can be found on our district website at www.united.k12.oh.us. Congratulations to one of our elementary students, Tucker Anderson in qualifying at the Quakertown Super Kids to go on to the National Race!


Children ages 3-18 who reside in Columbiana County are invited to come visit The Sunshine Bus this summer! All children will receive healthy food items, new books, stuffed animals, and more! Come see them at United Local June 28th and July 26th this summer!


Mrs. Marshall's first grade class ended the year with s'more fun activities and a sweet treat while they read their letters from me, upcoming second grade teachers, current second grade students, and one from another!









Congratulations to our 4th Nine Weeks Distinguished and Merit Honor Roll Elementary Students! Great job 4th and 5th grade students on your dedication to succeed!





Mrs. Grimm's class enjoyed learning about unique ways to make paper. Did you know that paper can even be made out of elephant dung? Finally, students learned a little bit about the process to recycle used paper into new paper.







4th grade classes competed in a marble run challenege today. The goal was to have the slowest time. The overall 4th grade grand winners were Danika, Madison, Isabella from Mrs. Malone's class. The winners from Mrs. Bezon's class were Natalie, Paisley S., Jamie and Taylor. The winners from Miss Walkama's class were Max, Colton C., Ben and Tyler. The winners from Mrs. White's class were Jude, Tatym, Kayden, and Isaac.









Congratulations to our Eagle Pride winners for the 4th Nine Weeks. These students have continued to work hard and to set a great example for those around them.

Miss Wilmoth's class had a beach day and spent the afternoon outside enjoying some books and popsicles in the sunshine!








Yesterday 5th grade students participated in Lemonade Day! Over the course of the last three weeks, students learned about what it takes to be an entrepreneur and run a business. They then created a company and designed, created, and marketed their lemonade to fellow elementary students. Yesterday students set up shop and sold their lemonade. We are proud to say that they raise $1329 for the United Food Pantry / Backpack program!
Just a few stats from the day: the 5th grade students served 1,200 cups, 112 total gallons, and did this all in a four hour time span!









Mrs. Barkley's class had a wonderful time at our carnival this week! The petting zoo was phenomenal and so were the other fun events! The bounce house was a big hit! we even got to sunk Mrs. Sigler in the dunk tank!





Every year, students in Mrs. Leitza's Literacy classes are challenged to read 40 books over the course of the year to finish the 40 Book Challenge. This year, we had 17 students who completed the challenge! We celebrated today with a pizza party. Way to go!
