
Second graders in Ms. B's room are working on creating different shapes that also qualify as polygons using straws and twist ties!








To wrap up our Opinion/Review writing unit, Mrs Garn's class wrote candy reviews of their favorite Easter Candy 🐰🍭 After conferring with a few adults, Charlee Thompson's review of Cadbury Cream Eggs was the winner. As a reward, the kids were treated to Cadbury Cream Eggs!





Since the weather didn't cooperate, first grade's egg hunt was moved indoors! We still had a great time celebrating Easter/ spring together.


The rain couldn’t stop Mrs. Leitza's 5th grade literacy classes today today! We had an Easter egg hunt in our room. Students found eggs that contained literacy related questions and then worked to answer them. It was a fun and engaging way to spend the last day before break! 🐰🐣










This week the students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade STEAM class participated in the Pillowcase project put on by the American Red Cross. They learned about fire safety and the timely subject of storm preparedness. Students were given a workbook to work though with their family to help to plan for such events and also a pillowcase to decorate to use in case of an emergency.






Students in Mrs. Shepard's class created anemometers to test the wind speed. It was a good day to test them ahead of a storm coming!


Students in Ms. Buckshaw's room practiced recognizing shape attributes by playing Shape Capture in math today!








Students in Mrs. Greenawalt's class have been learning about solids, liquids, and gases. Today, they made jello and discussed how jello can be a solid or a liquid.





3rd grade students have been partnering with 6th grade to learn how we can care for the earth. Today Miss Wilmoth's class shared their research with Mrs. Tedeschi's class. Topics included the 3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), Water Pollution, and Bees. Students did a fantastic job!





Mrs. Grimm's class enjoyed sharing with Mrs. Markijohn's class how to protect the Earth. Students used their persuasive writing skills to create presentations about the importance of honey bees, recycling, and keeping our water clean.

Mrs. Buckshaw's Class had fun in PE Class today while exercising. The activity they participated in was Half-court Fun. Great job kids!





Ms. B's second graders are practicing measurement skills by measuring each other's standing long jump distances! Future track stars in the making?





Miss Wilmoth and Mrs. Grimm's classes are enjoying math games on this rainy Friday.





United Local would like to remind families that we will be on a scheduled two-hour late start tomorrow, March 15th. All transportation and classes will run two hours later than normal.

Second grade students learned about Pi Day today with the help of our building math guru, Mrs. McGaffick!
