United FFA members competed in the district 3 Job interview contest at Norwayne High school. Members prepared resumes, cover letters, participated in mock interviews and then typed a follow up letter. There was over 30 students participating. Freshman Maggie Cope placed 5th, sophomore Connor Perry placed 3rd, junior Colton Sutherin placed 2nd and Senior Olivia Short placed 4th. Congratulations on a job well done! 🎉


Mr. Gentry’s 6th grade career exploration class has been exploring their first choice career. Students explored career requirements, told us why they are interested in the career, what qualifications you must have and expected wage. Here are just a few of the awesome presentations!




Representatives from the University of Mount Union will be at United on Thursday, November 10th, at 6pm in room 235 to help senior parents and students complete their FAFSA. Please bring 2021 Federal Tax Returns and W2's for student and parent(s). You may bring your laptop, or we will have some available for use.

Kaleb Nastari received a rousing send-off at the end of the school day today as he prepares to leave for the State Cross Country meet early tomorrow morning. He will be competing in the Division III race on Saturday morning. Kaleb currently holds the state record in the 800 meter run from last year's track season. Congratulations Kaleb and Good Luck at State!

This afternoon after school we received a threat to United Local School District. At this time officers and administration are investigating the credibility of this threat. While I am not certain at this point if we will have answers prior to school opening tomorrow, i am calling to inform you that we may need to cancel school. I understand that many of you will need to make alternative arrangements should we cancel, so that is the intent of this notification. More information will follow as we gather details.

Congratulations to our Junior Powderpuff team in their victory this afternoon. They first beat the Sophomore team and then upset the seniors to claim the 2022 Powderpuff championship. A lot of fun was had by all.




Students in Woodshop recently completed the first round of many projects for the year. Woods I made coat racks, Building Trades I constructed paper towel holders, and the 7th Grade Woodshop class created a mountain themed key holder.

The Boys Soccer team defeated Central Christian 3-1 Saturday to become the D3 Elyria District Champions! This is the third District Championship game the program has played in since 2017 and the second District Title won! They now travel to Perkins High School (Sandusky) on Wednesday for the Regional Semifinals!

The final day of the convention is the reason we come, the American FFA Degree. Only 2% of all 850,000 FFA Members earn their American Degree when the productively earn & invest at least $10,000 in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), volunteer 50 hours in community service events and actively participate in chapter, state and national FFA events and keep detailed records for at least 3 years in a high school Ag. Class. United had one diligent & dedicated member earn his American Degree, Mr. Landon Rhodes. CONGRATULATIONS 🎊




2nd tour of the day for FFA Members was Shakolad Chocolate company! Students started the tour by learning about the history of chocolate, where Cocoa comes from and how different chocolates are made! They then got to taste raw chocolate, dark, milk and white chocolate. Members even got to make their own lollipop to take home!




Thank You Student Council for making snow cones for everyone this afternoon!

Our cafeteria cooks always come up with awesome costumes. This year, they were literally the "Spice Girls."
