Shout out to our hard-working seniors in the Building Trades II class who learned to read blueprints and now are putting their knowledge to use. They are using the construction skills that they have learned so far this year to build garden sheds. They are also learning about marketing. Students had to make a bill of materials for their sheds and estimate what the materials would cost. Once their sheds are complete they will advertise for and sell their sheds, and then determine their profit margin. This journey teaches teamwork, problem-solving, and determination. These seniors are becoming both builders and entrepreneurs, ready for the future.

Students in Agriculture, Food & Natural resource class wrapped up their Unit conversations lesson today in the Food Science section by converting measurements (cups, teaspoons, milliliters, etc). They then converted units in a trail mix recipe, practiced proper methods of measuring and made their own trail mix! Next, they will be calculating the nutritional facts and building a nutrition label for their product.

We are blessed to have an amazing School Resource Officer at United Local Schools. Officer Tab Bailey works hard to keep all of our students and staff members safe. Officer Bailey also interacts with our students by reading to our younger students, participating in earning a whipped pie to the face, always being a friendly face in the building, and helping with arrival and dismissal. We are UNITED in our appreciation for all that you do!

Art 1 students took close up photos of fruit and other types of food. They then used these photos as a reference for their oil pastel art pieces. Our United students are very creative and are learning to see the unexpected tones and colors in the details of their images. The originals are on display in the High School cafeteria.
