Due to the expected dangerous wind chill, United will be closed on Wednesday, January 16, 2024.

The United Local Food Pantry always accepts donations to help keep up our inventory. We provide weekend meals to approximately 25-30 students in need per week and rely 100% on donations to keep this worthwhile project going. The list below includes our most purchased and requested items. Thank you for considering any donation. Please contact Mr. Burd at ryan.burd@eaglepride.net to arrange any donations or with any questions you may have.

The United Food Pantry would like to thank Frances Wilson, one of our 4th grade students, for her $420 donation to the food pantry. Frances hosted a Christmas Tea Party and donated the proceeds as part of her 4-H project. She even attended our most recent field trip to Operation Blessing to help pack food bags and our tour of Second Harvest Food Bank. Thank you Frances!

Good morning, there is currently a gas leak near State Route 9 that is being repaired due to damage by recent weather. The campus will be closed and all current activities canceled until further notice. We will send another alert when the repairs are complete.

In Mrs. Markijohn's class we used play doh to learn what an
extruder is! Then we watched a video from the owner of Dunaway (a company that makes presses and services the extrusion industry) We learned how elements and states of matter can be applied to the extrusion industry!

Sixth grade project...The students had a good time either writing from the characters perspective, researching more about bush pilots, or creating a news report from our class read aloud. Take a look at their creative minds. 📚🎥🎙️📔

The 7th grade class created light up Holiday cards this last week to take home for their family or friends as part of their electricity and poetry units. In Mrs. Conser's ELA class students wrote holiday, birthday, and uplifting Haiku poems for the inside of their cards. In Miss Ruiz's science class students created circuits within their cards to give their cards the ability to light up. (Many students created circuits with switches allowing their card to turn on and off!) Students needed to comprehend syllables and electrical circuits in order to complete this assignment. They did an AMAZING job!

6th graders learning to grow crops for survival.

Congratulations to Cora Baker and Ezra Davis! These sixth graders both received a token for the book vending machine because of their positive behavior, kindness towards others, and academic achievements!

6th graders in Mrs. Tedeschi’s classes learned about how and why civilizations developed by participating in a 2-day survival simulation where they had to get water, food, and shelter to survive. Tasks included carrying river water by spoonful to fill a cup on their desk, hunting food slips or farming for 20 food units and then planting corn, and building a model of a shelter with craft sticks and toothpicks. Day 1 - students worked alone and the total survival rate for all classes was 38%. Day 2 - students worked cooperatively and the total survival rate was 94%. Mission accomplished!

Another awesome sixth grader received a book vending machine token and certificate. Enjoy your book, "Dress Coded", Malina Diegdio and congratulations again! 🎉📚
