This week is National School Bus Safety Week, October 16th—20th.

distractions and following a few important safety rules when encountering buses, pick-up and drop-off spots, and driving in a school zones.

The students shared their metamorphic rock sandwiches today!
The kiddos put "minerals" on their sandwich and then used heat and pressure to create a
"rock!"
They used lots of creativity for heat and pressure and interesting ingredients for their minerals!!

8th Grade Washington D.C. Parent Meeting tomorrow evening at 6 PM in the auditorium.

In Mrs. Markijohn's 6th grade science class the students made Sedimentary rock parfets!
Th Kiddos were "wind and rain" and "weathered and eroded" their rocks (cereal) to a creek bed (pudding cup). Then the students helped to compact and cement the layers together for a delicious sedimentary rock!

Today was the perfect day for a visit to learn more about our honeybee hives here at United! 🐝 The sixth graders came, saw, and overcame some fears. It was such an amazing learning experience!

The 6th grade students enjoyed a live virtual visit with young adult author, Ellen Potter! She gave her tips and tricks to writing, answered questions the students prepared, and they even had time to begin writing a creative piece that some were able to share with her. What an amazing experience they had! 📚

Congratulations to senior Addyson Blazer! Each week, Beck’s recognizes high school athletes who demonstrate that they are a Player with Heart. At Beck’s, we are and will remain, Farmers at Heart™. Addyson Blazer was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the court. Her favorite part about high school sports is the family aspect within the team and the feeling of having the community behind you. Also representing the community in a positive way. To Addyson agriculture gives her a sense of belonging. Both of her parents were heavily involved in ag, and she has been involved since she first learned to walk.
