
Mr. Thompson’s 7th grade science classes spent the day learning about soil conservation with Mr. Pete Conkle from Columbiana County Soil & Water Conservation District. Thank you Mr. Conkle for being such a wonderful resource for our students!




Mrs. Audrey Dimmerling from the Ohio State University Extension Office (Columbiana County) presented to our Middle School students about local landfills, what goes in them, how long it stays, and how students can lower the amount of trash that ends up there. Thank you Mrs. Dimmerling for a fun and educational presentation!




Thank you to Mrs. Cooper's chemistry students for teaching Mrs. Conser's 7th grade students how to test their water. Students learned about reasons pollutants may be present and measures that can be taken to increase water quality.





Happy Birthday to our newly hatched mascot of this years 6th grade class who happens to share a birthday with one of our students, Weston Hoopes. We also cannot forget about our class pet bunny. 🐰
Also, a huge thanks to our amazing student Juliana Logan for bringing in the fertilized eggs and incubator, so that we could all have this wonderful experience. 🐣



United's Middle School Boys Track Team placed 2nd at Mr. B's Invitational at Crestview. Congratulations Eagles!


The 6th grade students are having a "bee day!" They are learning about different types of honey and how to harvest the honey from the hives. They are constructing bee hives, cooking with honey and making chapstick!









United Local Middle School is running a fundraiser that will end on Wednesday, April 5th. In an attempt to reduce waste in local landfills, students are selling reusable tote bags (made from recycled materials), reusable water bottles and tumblers, and United Local "We Don't Have to Wait to Be Great" Earth Day T-shirts. If you are interested in purchasing items, please place your order with a United Local Middle School student or contact Mrs. Raymond at the school. Items will be delivered the week of April 17th - In time to celebrate our Earth Day Spirit Week !


6th graders in Mrs. Tedeschi's classes had fun with their Egypt projects!








There will be training for the Sheriff's Department at United Local today March 23 beginning at 3pm and tomorrow March 24 throughout the day. There will be multiple Police vehicles at the school for this training.

Congratulations to the middle school academic challenge team!! They competed in the Columbiana County meet last evening and brought home 1st place. Members of the team include: Jacob DiLeo, Alison Conser, Gavin Coffee, Eli Keshock, and Isaiah Conway.


Mrs. Markijohn's classes celebrated Pi day by calculating pi and eating pie!!











United Local would like to remind families that we will be on a scheduled two-hour late start tomorrow, March 15th. All transportation and classes will run two hours later than normal.

Mrs. Markijohn's kiddos showed off their roller coaster projects to their families today!

Thank you to the Kim and Ashley Bergman Memorial Fund for their generous donation of funds for the United Local Food Pantry. The funds will be used to continue to provide weekend meals to those students in need!


Hot topic debates in Mrs. Russo's 6th grade, ELA class. The students had to choose whether the FDA should have to label if food has GMO's or not. We covered both sides of this controversial issue and it was fun! Please ask the 6th graders other topics we have been covering in our nonfiction research unit.
