There have been many students absent and sent home from school this week! Consider using this guide to determine when to keep your students home. Please do not medicate any symptoms that could mask serious illness.
Mrs. Tedeschi's students did a simulation of Ancient Civilzations and had to survive by growing their own food. Their corn seeds sprouted already!
United Local will be testing our emergency notification system this week on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 6 PM. You will get a notification saying that it is only a test. If you or someone you know does not receive a notification that wishes to, we ask that you call our district office at 330-223-1521 during normal business hours to make sure that we can guide you through the options for signing up.
There will be a College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational meeting held on 12/7/22 at 5:30pm. It will be held at Kent State University-Salem Campus. Representatives from Kent State, Youngstown State, and Eastern Gateway college will be in attendance. If you have a student interested in taking a CCP course during the 2023-2024 academic year, I encourage you to attend!
The United Local Middle School Food Pantry is excited to announce the 1st annual "12 Days of Giving" Holiday Celebration. Please see the attached documents for information regarding the event as well as a calendar of events.

We want to thank SHP for coming to meet with some students yesterday! They brought some sample furniture and playground ideas for the new school and will be gathering input from students and staff. We appreciate all the great feedback we gotten so far!
The 8th grade food pantry group would like to thank the Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board for awarding us one of their '22-'23 mini grants in the amount of $2500. The money will be used to purchase food and hygiene items for students in need.

The candles are here from our Washington DC candle fundraiser. If your son/daughter sold over 12 candles, they can be picked up after school on Monday from 2:30 - 5:00 in Mr. Sarchet's room (room 210).
This afternoon after school we received a threat to United Local School District. At this time officers and administration are investigating the credibility of this threat. While I am not certain at this point if we will have answers prior to school opening tomorrow, i am calling to inform you that we may need to cancel school. I understand that many of you will need to make alternative arrangements should we cancel, so that is the intent of this notification. More information will follow as we gather details.

A group of 8th grade students went on a field trip today to learn more about local non profit organizations and how they service their community.These students intend to serve their school community by building our food pantry.If you would like to donate to this service project please contact the central office.
Mr. Wrask’s 6th grade math class learned about perfect squares and cubes in class. Students used tile squares and a digital cube activity to guide their learning.
Parent teacher conferences will be held next Thursday evening October 13th. You can schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher by calling 330-223-7102. Conferences for the middle school and high school will be held from 2:45 PM-8:45 PM. There will be no school on Friday the 14th.
There will be an informational meeting regarding the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip on October 13th at 7pm in the high school auditorium. Bob Jackson, owner of Traveling Classrooms, will be providing an overview of the trip and will be available to answer any questions.
The United Local Food Pantry group recently toured the Boardman Sam's Club to help gather ideas for how to best manage and run our own food pantry. We would like to thank Jason and Roger at Sam's Club for their time and generous donation of supplies.
United Local 8th graders visited the Career Trades Expo today at the Canfield Fairgrounds and got to experience first hand a variety of skilled trades.
